Job Summary:
The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for creating content and learning experiences for a variety of audiences using various delivery methods for Ventra Health product training. He/she is an experienced professional who delivers training plans, programs, and/or individual courses that are linked to business requirements.
Serve as Subject Matter Expert for assigned solutions to design and develop training programs that reflect a comprehensive understanding of those solutions and the context in which they are used by Ventra Health to achieve desired outcomes.
Assist with product adoption by partnering with Product Management to provide appropriate and timely training program design and development for new features and releases.
Partner with internal teams to support Ventra Health business strategy and goals through training programs that contribute to the overall success of product implementation, adoption, and ongoing client satisfaction.
Ensure internal client satisfaction of training programs for product implementations and ongoing learning events by actively soliciting feedback to continuously improve training program design and execution.
Essential Functions and Tasks:
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert for all assigned products and function as a liaison between Product Management / Development and internal clients to assimilate and communicate upcoming product changes and impact on end users.
- Initiate direct, consistent communication between business analysts and product managers, trainers, and other Subject Matter Experts, to successfully acquire, develop and/or maintain up-to-date information.
- Develop and execute project plans to ensure timely delivery of learning modules using sound instructional design; manage training program design and courseware development processes through to completion.
- Use sound instructional design processes and adult learning methodology to plan, design and develop classroom and web-based instructor-led and asynchronous product training content and materials.
- Write instructional content that is concise, engaging, and appropriate for the intended audience, purpose, and delivery method. Produce learning resources in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, and other technologies.
- Analyze post-training follow-up to determine the applicability of course material or training approaches and, in collaboration with trainers and subject matter experts, work to ensure courses are accurate, up-to-date, and provide an appropriate level of detail and incorporate feedback from internal and external customers.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- BA/BS in instructional design, education, communication or other related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5 – 7 years’ experience in software and/or technical curriculum development/course design for synchronous and asynchronous instructor-led, computer-based, and web-based training, including blended learning programs.
- Exceptional communicator who can serve as a liaison between numerous internal teams to ensure solution knowledge is shared across the organization and duplication of content development effort is minimized.
- Ability to understand technical content, communicate well with subject matter experts, and translate technical content to non-technical staff.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make presentations, facilitate meetings, and transfer knowledge of training intent to others.
- Strong editing skills, creative ability, and technical expertise are strong plusses.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines using effective project management, organization, and prioritizing skills.
- Authoring Tools: Articulate 360/Storyline knowledge strongly preferred. Single-source development tools such as Ancile, Docebo, WalkMe, AuthorIt, or similar, desired.
- Solid knowledge of all MS Office Products required.
