Summary of Position:
Under the direct supervision of the VP of Finance, this highly visible and critical role is responsible for developing revenue analysis, reporting systems, preparing complex financial and operational performance analysis, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes. Additionally, this role will help support the monthly close process. The role is key in driving predictability, accountability, and analysis throughout the company.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, expenses, and operations, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances.
- Lead data collection and analysis required to understand sales and margin analysis, structural cost analysis, customer profitability, and accounts receivable.
- Assist in the preparation of recurring reporting packages on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, focusing on key financial results, operational metrics, and performance to targets and budget.
- Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis as required.
- Identify opportunities for improving financial and operational processes.
- Handle short and medium-term cash forecasting and overall cash management.
- Assist with monthly close and preparation of financial statements.
- Assist with annual audits.
- Conduct Ad Hoc Financial Analysis when needed.
- Perform other appropriate duties, as assigned, to meet the needs of the department and the company.
Qualifications:
- BS in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 2 – 4 years of experience in Financial Planning, Operational Finance, or Corporate Finance.
- Advanced Proficiency in Excel, including use of advanced functions and ability to analyze large datasets.
- Fact-based problem-solving. Strong logic-based mind.
- Interest in working in a fast-paced environment with a large volume of regular change.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present results of complex analysis clearly and effectively to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrates a high degree of curiosity. Invest time and energy into learning. Seeks different points of view and perspectives.
- Extensive financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting a plus.
- Experience with navigating general ledger packages.
- Knowledge of SQL, or ability to learn basic/intermediate SQL queries required.
