Job Summary
In this role, you will work with and support the Senior Content Director to help grow the brand. This role is also responsible for increasing and improving Electronic Design’s digital online presence and audience affinity, with the goal of increasing traffic, audience engagement, and session duration on the website.
Primary Objectives
This role requires focus on soliciting, writing, and editing high-impact, technical content for the magazine, website, e-Newsletters, webinars, video, etc. Your knowledge of engineering will be a crucial addition to the brand.
Responsibilities
- Write electronics industry-relevant content for dedicated audience in various form factors including long-form articles, blogs, video interviews, webinars, etc.
- Interface with industry contacts and clients as an engineering expert
- Help ensure the work of freelance writers and columnists is sound and on mission
- Keep abreast of industry trends and initiatives
- Represent brand at industry events
- Provide editorial insight to align sponsored content with reader needs/interests.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and initiatives, through industry associations, industry content, clients, industry conferences, tradeshows, etc.
- Other duties as required

Required Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Converse fluently in English
- Can identify unique needs of the audience (both readers and sponsors)
- Deadline-focused
- Engineering knowledge and preferably experience in a focus area such as analog, software, semiconductors, IoT, etc.
- Minimum of 2 years engineering experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in publishing or communications within the electronics industry
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with digital and print content development as well as production.
- Travel required to clients, tradeshows, industry events and client conferences
As a company we have embraced the emerging pay transparency laws. The pay range for this position is $75,000-85,000 per year.
