Job Title: Systems Technician II
Reporting Relationship: The Systems Technician II reports directly to the Director of IT Systems – Admissions

Job Summary:

The Systems Technician II will be responsible for providing advanced technical support for the ticketing system and related applications. This role involves handling complex support requests, troubleshooting, resolving issues, and maintaining system functionality. The Systems Technician II will work closely with other IT Systems staff and end-users to ensure that the ticketing system is running efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced technical support for the ticketing system and related applications.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot complex issues with the ticketing system.
  • Implement and maintain system customizations and configurations as needed.
  • Manage user accounts and access permissions within the ticketing system.
  • Provide end-user training on advanced features of the ticketing system and related applications.
  • Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure that the ticketing system is integrated with other systems and applications as needed.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation and update it as needed.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices related to ticketing systems and applications.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in computer science or a related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a technical support role, with experience supporting ticketing systems. Gateway Ticketing Systems, Counterpoint, YellowDog applications preferred.
  • Experience with system customizations and configurations, such as scripting and programming.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL programming, commands, and database.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
