Description

This role plans and executes strategic internal and external communications in support of Derco, a Lockheed Martin company located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The selected candidate will develop and implement communications plans to support employee and executive communications, business growth objectives, and special events such as all-employee meetings. The successful candidate must be experienced with both internal and external communications and work well in a team environment.
Collaborating with our team of communications professionals, responsibilities will include some or all of the following:
- Create content for our internal and external platforms.
- Assist with any ongoing company communications campaigns.
- Support site-related activities as needed and execute other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university in a related discipline such as journalism, public relations, marketing, and communications.
- Experience writing internal communications, including writing for the web, or internal and external audiences.
- Experience handling multiple priorities and meeting set deadlines.
- Research, develop, and provide support for executive engagements, social media, presentations, webcasts, and videos for internal and external audiences.
- Ability to work with a high level of independence or collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of the various components of a communications plan.
Desired Skills
- Exceptional writing, editing, and oral communications skills with the ability to convey highly complex information in clear, compelling ways.
- Familiarity with the fundamentals of corporate social responsibility, employee engagement, and communications.
- Combination of skills in project management, social media, media, digital marketing, and writing for the web.
- Strong interpersonal skills, integrity, organization, teamwork, energy, and flexibility.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $77,300 – $145,600. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $67,200 – $128,900. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
