Overview:

We are currently hiring for a remote OSP Designer with experience working with NDS software preferred. This position serves as a liaison between the customer and TelCom to provide administrative support and customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates preliminary mapping for purposes of pre-survey work order completion
  • Appropriately schedules and completes workload to ensure that critical engineering design due dates are strictly achieved
  • Creates designs of feeder and distribution cable facilities using appropriate tools such as Microstation/Autocad
  • Accesses various databases that provide engineering and facility assignment records
  • Pulls reports and records to compile data and forwards electronically to outside contract engineering company to design outside plant network work prints and associated FTTN Serving Terminal Worksheets
  • Submits record corrections to facility engineers to resolve issues, corrects exception reports, submits jobs to be updated in various databases, and oversees and submits record corrections and updates for the reports
  • Prepares and acquires necessary permits for OSP facilities
  • Creates work orders using appropriate units
  • Follows all company processes and procedures in regard to assigned work as well as
  • Serves as primary point of contact for customer and employee inquiries and questions
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

The qualified candidate will have OSP Engineering work experience, knowledge of City/County ordinances in regard to utility structure, be familiar with both copper and fiber optic cable and RUS Unit-based contract Engineering. Must be extremely detail-oriented and exhibit exceptional organization and communication skills (both verbal and written). The successful candidate will have the ability and willingness to represent the company with integrity and support the organization’s values and goals and maintain a positive relationship with its customers. Must have good computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, database management and Engineering Design Software. NDS Design software experience is required. Individuals with experience working with Microstation/Autocad, OSP Viewer, Fireworks, and/or BidMaster are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience working with Google apps is also helpful.
