Job Summary and Qualifications
The Staff Accountant is responsible for general accounting functions including financial reporting of the Service Center Operations. Prepare consolidated financial statements for internal and external business.
In this role you will:
- Computes and prepares data and supporting schedules for journal entries.
- Prepare ledger entries by maintaining files and records, and reconciling accounts;
- Prepare Bank account reconciliations.
- Enter daily cash receipts.
- Balance inter-company accounts daily. Assists with the preparation of financial analysis, reports, and taxes as needed.
- Maintains Fixed Asset sub-ledger and assists with property tax returns.
- Assembles monthly financial booklets and month end close binders.
- Reviews coding of accounts payable vouchers and acts as backup to AP clerk.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements – internal and external business, by gathering and analyzing information from departments and the general ledger system.
- Assists with other types of financial reporting.
- Respond to request for information from Directors and other internal management related to budget initiatives.
- Assist with the monitoring and tracking staffing requisitions and headcount.
- Monitor and track Capital Projects vs budget.
- Assist with yearly budget preparation and upload into system.
- Assist in preparation of weekly and rolling 12-month forecast.
- Special projects and analysis as requested by Manager, Controller, and CFO.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality to ensure that privileged information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure.
The Qualifications that you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- At least 2 years of Accounting/Finance experience required.
- Relevant education may substitute experience requirement.
