Hours:
We will be running a remote ACT Boot Camp with required hours from 4:00pm-5:20pm CT on: Dec 22nd, 23rd, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th, 31st, Jan 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th. After this time, hours will be scheduled during after school hours (~3 to ~7:30pm CT) and weekends; Tutors can expect 1-3 hours of tutoring per day worked.

Job Description:
As a Part-Time ACT Test Prep Tutor at FocusPrep Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in helping students excel in their ACT exams. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home. We are only hiring Texas Residents.
Responsibilities:
- Provide virtual ACT test prep tutoring to students in classes of 4-5 students
- Present math, reading, English, science, and writing concepts to the class
- Solve example problems for the class
- Create personalized lesson plans tailored to individual learning styles with support from our general curriculum and detailed diagnostic exam
- We will provide guidelines for content (i.e. give you specific problem sets to cover in class and assign as homework. Answer keys will be provided for preparation.)
- Utilize a stylus setup (computer or iPad connected to Zoom) or a document camera for effective instruction
- Facilitate content review and practice problem sessions, dedicating roughly half of each session to each
Requirements:
- You must be a Texas Resident.
- Previous experience in tutoring for ACT (highly preferred)
- If you lack ACT experience, relevant tutoring/teaching experience may also qualify you
- Ability to score above a 32 on the ACT
- Strong grasp on all sections of the ACT (English, math, writing, reading, & science)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required (enrollment in a university is acceptable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable internet connection, a quiet workspace, and a quality microphone/camera for Zoom sessions
- Document camera, iPad, or stylus ownership for use in lectures & problem sets
- Patience and experience working with students with learning differences or ADHD in particular will strengthen applications
- Familiarity with “The Big Red Book” from ACT Inc will strengthen applications
Compensation:
Starting rate: $50 per hour
