Location Requirements: Must reside in or be willing to relocate to one of the following states to be eligible for hire: Florida, Vermont, Tennessee, Texas, New York, Washington, Nebraska, North Carolina, Arizona, Rhode Island, New Jersey, California, Missouri, Michigan, Massachusetts, or Illinois.
How You Will Contribute
The Customer Support Specialist will play a vital role in providing support to Asure’s reseller tax service clients. Responsibilities include resolving customer queries, recommending solutions, and guiding clients through product features. Successful candidates will excel in communication, providing updates, and managing client expectations regarding service level agreements. This role aims to establish a partnership with clients, offering excellent support on tax knowledge, tax processes, and procedures of the Asure Payroll Tax Management (APTM) engine.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve various tax notice issues for clients, including SUI, SIT, Local and Federal returns, Missing coupons, and more.
- Assist in client set up of new tax types/agencies, authorizations, TPA assignments, and ID number updates.
- Contribute to quarterly and annual payroll tax reporting, managing controls for all clients.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to resolve funding issues and discrepancies.
- Complete special projects and provide progress updates to the Manager.
- Respond to customer queries via phone, email, or CRM tool.
- Follow up with customers to ensure resolution of technical issues.
- Collect customer feedback and share with Product and Manager.
- Assist in training resellers of the APTM product.
What You Will Bring
- Minimum 1 year of payroll tax payment and/or filing experience.
- Minimum H.S. diploma/GED equivalent; college degree preferred.
- Proficient attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Advanced Excel and payroll software skills.
- Experience with multi-state and multi-client local taxation preferred.
- Knowledge of Professional Employer Organization (PEO) companies and Prism/Workday software.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Comfortable in a performance-based and structured environment with high ethical standards.
- Ability to learn and apply basic concepts in new situations.
- Collaborative and able to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
- Participation in continuing education with the American Payroll Association or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) standing is a plus.
