We have an exciting opportunity and need for energetic, enthusiastic, flexible and detail-oriented contract Administrators on Call (AOC) to help us deliver the “Gift of Sight” to vision-impaired patients in need.
The Eye Bank of Kentucky is seeking contract AOC’s to assist our office staff in the recovery logistics of donated human ocular tissue for transplantation, medical education and research.
The Eye Bank of Kentucky serves the state of Kentucky, four counties in southern Indiana and two counties in West Virginia. Eye Recovery Technicians are responsible for screening cases with Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates, reviewing authorization, consent, medical records, and other paperwork to determine donor eligibility, and coordinating timely ocular tissue recovery from donors in the EBKY service area.
Primary essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Screen cases with KODA Donor Center to determine donor recovery eligibility
- Coordinate eye donor recovery effectively and efficiently
- Dispatch recovery technicians and coordinate arrangements for timely ocular recovery
- Respond timely to phone calls and text messages from KODA Donor Center and KLEB Recovery Technicians
Qualified applicants will meet the following experience guidelines:
- Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy
- Excellent verbal communication
- Proficient computer skills
- Be detail oriented and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
If hired, you will be required to cover 12 hour shifts. You will be on call for the 12 hours but will not be consistently working. You can set your availability of shifts, but understand that the Eye Bank of Kentucky responds to and coordinates recovery of ocular tissue 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Holidays, weekends, and evening/night shifts will be required.
Due to the on call nature of this position and the inevitable down time you will have on your shift, this position pays $10.00 per hour. This is a great opportunity for those wanting supplemental income or students.
