Overview:

TRC is seeking a senior Technical Director to help lead our Air Quality team nationally. The position requires a strong technical, financial, business development and management background, and a solid reputation of building and maintaining key client relationships. TRC’s Air Quality and EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) team is a growing and highly profitable group ranging from entry-level staff to nationally recognized Subject Matter Experts. This is a remote role that may report from anywhere in the country or to a nearby TRC office.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and market new clients in their geographic region and nationally.
  • Responsible for leadership, quality and growth of TRC’s Air Quality business by providing technical direction to staff and performing client outreach to develop new business opportunities.
  • Direct, manage and monitor multiple project budgets, scopes and schedules for regulatory submittals and other consulting documents.
  • Have a significant role in optimizing the quality and profitability of TRC’s projects, as well as assisting with managing, mentoring and developing the skill sets of project managers and other employees to ensure our projects are executed with a high level of efficiency and technical excellence.
  • Communicate horizontally and help maintain strong relationships with key leaders within their geographic region and nationally within the TRC’s Environmental Sector.
  • Understand and manage team resources and assist in hiring and developing new and existing talent.
  • Lead and mentor project managers on strategic pursuits, including proposal development and client meetings, and help maintain strong relationships with key leaders within their geographic region, and other members in the TRC Environmental Sector.
  • Cross-sell TRC services and increase business from accounts under management.
  • Possess excellent verbal, written, presentation and client management skills; demonstrated ability leading and managing complex projects; as well as being goal oriented, quality focused, and have demonstrated success with creating and fostering a team environment.
  • Responsible for managing and expanding TRC’s portfolio for specific clients and able to identify and develop new business opportunities, market clients, and deliver responsive, high-quality services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in environmental engineering, science or related field of study. Related Master’s Degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 25 years’ experience leading projects, serving clients, leading teams and managing technical staff under a seller/doer business model within an Environmental consulting/engineering firm.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral. Must be driven to lead project teams and market new clients. Must develop a positive relationship with our clients and employees.
  • Strong business acumen and attributes, coupled with a commitment to TRC Values: Safety, Quality, Integrity, Creativity, Accountability, Teamwork and Passion.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven track record with business development, business management and oversight of a team that results in $1 million+ yearly net revenue in air quality/environmental related services.
  • Experience in Air Quality (emission testing, permitting and ambient monitoring), ESG Reporting, Environmental Due Diligence, Emissions Reduction, Environmental and Regulatory Compliance.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and initiatives.

Salary Range: USD $160,000.00 – USD $205,000.00 /Yr.
