Job Description
Prepare federal, foreign, and state income tax workpapers, SFAS 109 tax provision workpapers, calculate estimated tax payments, research requirements, and assess/prepare correspondence in regards to tax notices.
Prepare/review federal and state income tax return workpapers for multiple companies; ensure all filing requirements are completed in a timely manner.
Prepare domestic and foreign SFAS 109 tax provision workpapers; prepare related footnote and disclosures for annual audited financial statements.
Research and analyze financial data to determine book/tax accounting treatment.
Prepare documentation necessary to comply with foreign and domestic tax audits.
Analyze and interpret existing and upcoming tax legislation (federal, state, local, and foreign) to identify opportunities to minimize the organization’s legal tax liabilities.
Ensure accurate records are maintained to support book/tax accounting decisions and statements.
Use and update tax return and provision software.
Perform analysis and research regarding other taxes including premium, sales, and use and property taxes.
Recommend ways to minimize corporate tax through use of tax laws and regulations.
Work on other special projects as assigned; these may include non-tax-related assignments.
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent experience
- CPA required
- 8 years of both domestic and international tax-related experience
- Technical and theoretical background in U.S. GAAP including SFAS 109, Accounting for Income Taxes for both U.S. and foreign subsidiaries
- Ability to conduct various types of analysis, provide alternatives, and make recommendations using tax and accounting research software (CCH Tax and Accounting Research Managers)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in spreadsheet applications (specifically MS Excel) and accounting systems
- Strong willingness to learn, share knowledge with other team members, accept responsibility, and handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job duties
- Clean credit history as reported by credit report

Compensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Salary Ranges: $100,000.00 – $157,500.00
