Position Description:

The Supplier Performance Specialist (SPS) will be responsible for identifying constraints to flow, and acting as a liaison technical lead, utilizing problem-solving skills while building effective working relationships with all Functional Groups, (including, but not limited to Procurement, Supplier Development, Engineering, Quality, Production, New Product Introduction, Transitions as well as sub-tier support) to improve supplier deliveries. The SPS would also support production rate improvement projects across all PW programs.

The SPS leads and coordinates the operational aspects of developed projects and serves as a liaison between the supplier, and the commodity team by assessing part issues and developing resolutions to meet production throughput, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives through collaboration with Key supply chain stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify constraints to flow that will be used to develop improvement and mitigation plans for improved on-time delivery from suppliers
  • Acquire a vision of the big picture and understand that enhancing operational effectiveness is key to organizational business performance.
  • Drive for results, consistently pursuing continued ways to accomplish goals and objectives that require your extraordinary determination, self-motivation, and interpersonal skills to satisfy our customer’s needs.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the products and the operational processes they go through at the suppliers you will be working with.
  • Ability to generate and gain opportunities to break functional, operational, & logistical barriers faced with getting products out the door.
  • Effectively driving tasks/projects to completion which include but are not limited to: Leading Indicator data collection and gap review, material coverage and tracking, facilitating quality notification communication and closures, and sub-tier management assistance.
  • Through the rigorous use of change management disciplines, drive initiatives, processes, and CORE throughout the business and across the supply chain
  • Will be an active participant in Commodity Days, Executive Management Meetings, and Co-lead with our customers and Supplier Development Leaders on the respective Supplier Business Reviews and Rate Readiness Reviews.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, supply chain, or related degree and 5 years of experience in supply chain, business, or relevant experience; OR an advanced degree and three years of relevant experience; OR in lieu of a degree 9 years of experience in supply chain, business or other relevant experience can be considered.

Must be able to travel up to 80% of your time to the Phoenix/Tucson, Arizona and Nogales, Mexico areas

Must be able to work 20% of the time from home office in Arizona

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communications
  • Proficient in MS Office – Excel, Word, Outlook, & PowerPoint.
