  • Position Overview:
    • Provide compassionate customer service and issue resolution to consumers
    • Handle inbound phone calls from providers and billing companies
    • Independently resolve inquiries, ranging from routine to moderately complex issues
  • Full-Time Position:
    • 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday
    • Flexible to work any 8-hour shift between 7 am – 7 pm CST
    • Possible overtime as business needs dictate
  • Training and Requirements:
    • 2 weeks of paid training, conducted virtually from your home
    • Adherence to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy
    • Must have a dedicated work area for information privacy

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers via written (email or fax) and verbal requests
  • Provide expertise or general support by reviewing case statuses
  • Navigate multiple computer application systems to troubleshoot and resolve inquiries
  • Maintain accuracy standards of 97% or greater
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal compliance policies
  • Act as a resource for others and manage change in a call center environment

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare, claims, or insurance industries
  • 2+ years of customer service/call center experience
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, OneNote, and Excel
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 7:00 pm CST

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Keep all company sensitive documents secure
  • Have a dedicated work area for information privacy
  • Live in a location with a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection

  • Ability to diffuse difficult callers and maintain emotional fortitude in high-stress situations

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Washington, or Rhode Island Residents Only:

The hourly range for residents of these states is $18.80 – $36.78 per hour, based on various factors. In addition to salary, UnitedHealth Group offers a comprehensive benefits package.
