Purpose and Objective:
This role is an integral part of the pricing and product development team, responsible for evaluating, proposing, and implementing new product ideas and changes to existing products to ensure market competitiveness while meeting profit and risk requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Product Development, Design, and Pricing
- Provide actuarial expertise to a cross-functional team.
- Lead pricing efforts on new and existing products.
- Work closely with Product Performance and Development teams.
- Continuously evaluate and improve pricing process.
- Develop and implement changes to pricing structure and algorithms (“smarter pricing”).
- Analyze and document financial impacts of new products or changes.
- Regulatory and Product Implementation Support
- Review, analyze, and implement regulatory capital and accounting regimes.
- Work with a cross-functional team to develop or revise and file policy forms.
- Provide actuarial support for product filings.
- Actuarial Pricing Assumption Review and Development
- Assist with research, development, analysis, and proposal of assumptions.
- Work with Data Science, Valuation, and Inforce Management teams.
- Actuarial Model Development and Maintenance
- Develop, utilize, and maintain actuarial models.
- Implement, review, and document model and assumption changes.
- Manage and Develop Staff
- Provide oversight, direction, and mentorship to junior staff members.
- Ad hoc Projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education
- BS/BA Math/Statistics/Actuarial Science
- ASA
- Experience/Knowledge
- 5 or more years of experience
- Skills
- The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
- Significant experience with MG-ALFA or similar actuarial software is highly preferred.
What’s in it for you?
The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $101,300 – $139,250 annually.
The total compensation package for this position may include other elements, such as a sign-on bonus, long term incentives, and annual bonuses. This role is eligible to participate in the Legal & General America Annual Incentive Plan. The current target payment for the position is 20% of base salary, modified for corporate and individual performance. Bonuses are pro-rated based on start date. This role has 20 vacation days and 10 sick days that are accrued on a bi-weekly basis. Employees also have 9 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
