Responsibilities:
- Plan the release of project deliverables and release life cycle
- Communicate project-related tasks such as plans, timelines, requirements, etc. between different teams
- Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates
- Identify risks that can delay the release and manage them, ensuring the scope, schedule, and quality of the release are not affected
- Track progress and find issues, if any. Always work to improve the process of release
- Ensure that the release is planned according to requirements and budget
- Schedule release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release
- Create plans for the implementation and deployment as per the release schedule
- Plan and provide weekly updates on release activities
- Ensure the allocation of Release Engineers to every release
- Communicate with release managers from different IT departments
- Lead the Go-Live activities to deploy the software successfully
- Team up with relevant development teams responsible for building the automation tools used to develop and deploy the software
- Schedule the CAB meetings to discuss the release schedules with the team and find roadblocks
- Excellent customer service
Qualifications:
- Must have experience in management of individual releases of software, hardware, or other system components
- Must have experience in coordinating with QA, Development, packaging, and hardware teams
- Must have experience in documenting releases, risks, and maintaining the schedule of planned releases
- Position requires knowledge of Linux/Unix
- Experience in planning the release of project deliverables and release life cycle
- Excellent programming skills and experience
- Ability to handle software infrastructure management & configuration management
- An expert understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to identify issues or work with teams that identify issues and work with teams to provide and document solutions and understand/participate in Risk analysis
- Excellent analytical skills
- Must have the ability to flex schedule to match the available time of a planned release event
- Experience in coordinating cross-functional work teams up to task completion
- Knowledge of ServiceNow (dashboarding, reports, workflows)
- Experience with SharePoint/MS Teams
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific/technical discipline and 10+ years’ work experience
Eight (8) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education (18 years total)
Clearance:
The ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation
