We are looking for a Senior Sourcing Manager for Pigments and Additives.

Description
The Senior Sourcing Manager is responsible for all phases of sourcing necessary for pigments and additives. This role identifies cost-saving opportunities, creates competitive environments, creatively negotiates, generates contracts to assure seamless availability of all products to support the company objectives while managing accountable levels of inventory.
Key Duties
Negotiating:
- Responsible for negotiations for the best possible cost service guarantee
- Develops “win-win” strategies with suppliers
- Negotiates resin costs – invoice price, pay terms, freight, service, etc.
- Works with suppliers on cost-down opportunities and continuous improvement projects
Supplier Selection & Evaluation:
- Full market understanding of assigned categories
- Brings new suppliers to the company that would generate lower total cost or new technology
- Evaluates supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models
- Develops a supplier management program with key suppliers including metrics, performance goals, and improvement initiatives
Performance Metrics:
- Owns sourcing of allotted raw material categories using the strategic sourcing process
- Generates cost savings and working capital improvements
- Works with site buyers to drive raw material inventories down and implement consignment, where feasible
- Provides monthly feedback to key internal stakeholders on raw material cost trends and supplier and market changes
- Performs purchase requisition audits, purchase order management, and expediting as required
Contracts:
- Implements supplier agreements/contracts when beneficial
- Establishes purchasing policies and ensures compliance within the department
Market Trends:
- Researches and anticipates shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers
- Analyzes industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues
Business Aspects:
- Business partner to Commercial and Technology stakeholders
- Actively participates in cross-function collaboration and priority alignment
- Participates in establishing short-term and long-range planning and budget development of the company
- Continuously improves productivity and efficiency of processes throughout the operational organization
Supplier Relationships:
- Maintains and develops supplier relationships (trade shows, supplier meetings, conferences, etc.)
Skills, Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree (engineering, science, or supply chain) strongly preferred with 7-10 years purchasing/strategic sourcing/supply chain experience in the Plastics Industry or chemical industries
- Supply Chain Management Certification (ISM or APICS) is a plus
- Ability to manage projects and establish clear goals and accountabilities to ensure successful delivery
- Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow-through skills
- Must have a strategic mindset and robust negotiation skills
- Strong independent problem-solving skills required
- Ability to work well with others independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Must be a self-starter and self-motivated
- Advanced systems skills and working knowledge of MS Office, with advanced Excel knowledge
- Must have excellent presentation and communication skills
- Willingness to travel as needed (up to 20%)
- Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing of pigments and additives (not just buying of pigments and additives). Specifically, colored pigments
