We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-connected Southeast Regional Mill Broker to join our client’s diverse lumber business. As the Southeast Regional Mill Broker, you will play a vital role in managing and expanding an existing book of business while fostering new relationships within the Southeast market. Role Overview
In this role, you will be part of a recently acquired mill direct brokerage business that has been seamlessly integrated into our client’s lumber operations. Your primary focus will be on serving end-users, such as manufacturers of windows, doors, stairs, and specialty trusses, who require regular truckload quantities of Southern Yellow Pine and Eastern White Pine. In this position, you will be empowered to engage in business development activities, with the autonomy to place lumber orders directly from the mills as needed. You will receive robust support from marketing, accounting, and financial resources, and you will lead sales forecasting and planning initiatives within your market.

Requirements
To thrive in this role, you should have a minimum of ten years of experience in the mill direct business, with a proven history in selling Southern Yellow Pine and/or Eastern White Pine to major local, regional, and national accounts with a focus on truckload quantities. Strong existing relationships with mills and the ability to assume relationships with current mills, especially those located on the East Coast, are crucial. A well-connected network, particularly in the Greater Southeast region, is also a requirement.

Responsibilities
As the Southeast Regional Mill Broker, your responsibilities will include taking orders from existing end-users, receiving requests, and actively soliciting sales on behalf of mills to move mill inventory. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and expanding the mill network, as well as providing valuable input to the company for sales and marketing support to boost overall sales performance. While this position is primarily virtual, occasional travel will be necessary to visit mills and customers.
