What You Will Be Doing
As a Market Development Manager, you will be responsible for the execution of a business plan that provides growth for regional segments of business for all distribution channels and products. Lead and develop a high-performing team that fits the needs of your region. Specifically, this role is a sales-focused role leading new business production to target for an assigned territory, along with managing Territory Managers in crafting plans to achieve their sales targets while taking ownership of the overall team results. Responsible for the identification, maintenance, and relationship management for state leadership from our insurance partners. You will also coach team members on sales processes and make strategic decisions that drive the North American Markets (NAM) operational targets.
- Work with internal teams to achieve goals through management, leadership, and development.
- Drive profitable growth by aggressively pursuing event marketing, broker sales, and special programs business.
- Establish targets, identify trends, and drive sales.
- Create individualized coaching needs for different levels of experience and skills in an effective manner while providing transparency on performance and motivate the team.
- Encourage the team to improve every day by actively researching and suggesting learning opportunities such as books, podcasts, higher education, conferences, etc.
- Work with the team to brainstorm and roll out new objectives, initiatives, and build a team One Page Plan.
- Work with the team both internally and WFH to ensure a functional working environment.
- Help with interviewing potential candidates for various open positions throughout the company.
- Effectively collaborate and communicate with leaders throughout the Regions and North American Market to create a One Team atmosphere in order to drive sales results.
- Translating business objectives to sales plans for your region.
- Develop strong relationships with Leaders throughout as well as working with internal teams to achieve goals.
- Recognize data trends and implement solutions by making and owning critical operational decisions.
- Align financial metrics, priorities, and initiatives with Regions and NAM where it makes sense.
- Have a broad understanding of the company and industry trends and how it could affect the team.
