The Opportunity

This role will direct and lead all aspects of sales and marketing initiatives through business strategy and performance objectives to support achievement of business initiatives, ensure adherence to organizational governance and contribute to growth and profitability.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage sales and marketing training for agents ensuring understanding of the federal crop insurance program and other insurance products offered by the business
  • Manage agent compliance with Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) rules and regulations and coordinate agent appointments
  • Oversee the maintenance and documentation of agent contracts and commission schedules ensuring compliance with licensing and training requirements
  • Partner with peers and key stakeholders in the development and marketing of new products
  • Drive new profitable business growth by identifying opportunities for increasing profits, collaborating with key stakeholders, analyzing issues and making recommendations for process improvement
  • Ensure sales and marketing strategy and objectives support agency sales force efforts by collaborating to increase policy and premium growth with current and prospective agencies
  • Facilitate regular communication with agencies to strengthen business relationships and equip agents with information and tools that support the achievement of new business and retention sales objectives
  • Direct the development of agency compensation programs in conjunction with the business plan and agent partner strategies ensuring understanding and commitment to programs and agency segmentation is appropriate
  • Represent the business at various crop insurance industry meetings and conferences
  • Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Experience

7 years relevant experience

10 years relevant sales and marketing experience in the crop insurance industry

Preferred Licenses/Certifications

Crop Insurance Agent license

Preferred Knowledge

Working knowledge of federal crop insurance program
Demonstrated ability to formulate a vision and articulate technical concepts in business value terms

  • Annual Salary Range: $118,000 – $178,000

  • Annual Salary Range: $148,000 – $223,000
  • San Francisco CA, NJ and New York City NY
