Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops a comprehensive understanding of the Nationwide Investment suite, competitive landscape, and industry portfolio construction trends.
- Provides subject matter expertise to support the team in meeting preparation and in client-facing prospecting and final selection meetings.
- Develops investment insights that can be shared with clients and prospects.
- Collaborates with the team leader to refine and prioritize strategic opportunity to positively position Nationwide Investments.
- Builds and grows strong knowledge of industry trends, retail distribution market, product innovation, along with legal and regulatory issues.
- Creates and maintains the appropriate relationships and communication with investment professionals to keep the team fully informed.
- Works on retaining assets with advisors currently using Nationwide Investment Funds suite.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director, Institutional Sales.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
- Education: Undergraduate degree; advanced degree preferred.
- License/Certification/Designation: FINRA Series 7, and 63 or 66 required. Professional Designations: CFA®, CIMA® other advanced designations are a plus.
- Experience: Five years of experience in a technical role in investment management. Typically, at least three years of experience as an investment analyst.
- Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong interpersonal and analytic skills. Excellent team member who is able to find ways to contribute to growth and retention efforts. Advanced knowledge of investments and portfolio construction trends.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

- Working Conditions: Some travel will be required based on business needs.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.
The national salary range for Consultant, Institutional Investment – Financial Services: $76,000.00-$156,000.00
The expected starting salary range for Consultant, Institutional Investment – Financial Services: $84,000.00 – $126,000.00.
