A Language Services Company located in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking a Translation Project Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for designated clients and projects.
- Enjoy direct client contact and demonstrate a passion for service delivery.
- Build, maintain, and grow the new and existing client base through excellent customer services, clear communication, and consistent high-quality service.
Project Management
- Gather all documents, instructions, and requirements at the start of the project.
- Clearly scope and price projects.
- Manage resources/vendors for each project.
- Manage project budget and timeline with various resources/vendors.
- Keep the client up-to-date on project progress through status updates and project reports.
- Perform quality checks at various stages of the process to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Communicate with the client on any requested changes, disseminate comments, and corrections back to the production team.
- Create and maintain linguistic assets in CAT tool.
- Create and maintain client information in TMS, including billing and related project data.
- Support the sales team with new client quoting and project scoping.
- Document all client communications in CRM.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum two years of translation project management experience.
- Experience in direct contact with clients.
Specialized Skills
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; German or Spanish language skills would be an asset.
- An understanding of TMS workflow and translation memory tools (XTRF and MEMOQ experience would be preferred).
- Highly-developed computer skills (MS Office, Windows).
- Knowledge of a variety of Desktop Publishing tools (InDesign).
- Detail orientation with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to negotiate rates if needed.
- A good team player while being independent in carrying out assigned tasks.
