The opportunity:
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst reports to the Director of Financial Reporting.
- Prepare timely and accurate NAIC (National Association of Insurance Commissioners) statutory quarterly and annual statements, as well as all related filings (i.e. MD&A’s, supplemental schedules and exhibits, etc.).
- Prepare quarterly NAIC financial statement fluctuation analyses.
- Prepare quarterly IFRS to NAIC reconciliations and analyses.
- Maintain financial reporting integrity and ensure compliance with statutory basis accounting standards.
- Streamline reporting processes using available tools.
- Support audit and regulatory examination requests as needed.
- Ability to manage daily tasks independently.
How you will contribute:
This role requires an individual with a proven track record of detailed financial reporting/accounting experience. Curiosity and ability to understand and enhance the overall reporting process, driving efficiencies and overall company success. Partner with and support other finance teams, business units, and other partners. Liaises with external auditors/regulators, external and internal legal counsel and other internal constituents on accounting and reporting matters. Establish business partner relationships with other organizational functions; perceived as an accounting expert within the organization; mentors non-financial stakeholders on financial and system issues where appropriate. Performs Special Projects and applies current accounting guidance.
What you will bring with you:
- Critical thinker with the ability to analyze and implement SSAP and other accounting guidance.
- 3+ years of experience in a large public institution, including responsibilities related to quarterly financial reporting, annual audits, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
- BS in accounting, finance, or other similarly related field of study.
- Insurance industry experience preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as other financial software packages including SAP GL and StatementPro applications.
- Possesses a continuous-improvement mind-set.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; good listening capability; skilled at clearly and concisely communicating with all constituencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills; success at cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and creating partnerships at all levels within the organization.
- Strong organization skills and commitment to meet deadlines.
- Unquestionable personal integrity, credibility, and professionalism. Quickly builds confidence in others. Team player who understands his/her role in relationship to others.

Southern region: 83,400-125,100 annually
Central region: 87,900-131,900 annually
Northern region: 93,900-140,900 annually
If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is 82,300-123,500 annually.
If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is 93,900-140,900 annually.
If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is 87,900-131,900 annually.
