Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Accountant to join our team! In this role, you will get to complete a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard accounting techniques and principles. This is a local Hybrid opportunity.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Perform monthly cost reconciliations and analyze financial data from Costpoint and other systems.
- Prepare and maintain analyses for accounting system modules.
- Create and maintain desktop procedures.
- Support internal and external audits and other departments.
- Review expense reports to determine if costs are allowable, allocable, and reasonable pursuant to government regulations (FAR, Part 31), and company policies and procedures.
- Obtain appropriate supporting information and documentation from internal and external sources, including other Finance Department groups, other departments or divisions, other Parsons entities, vendors, and customers.
- Verify accuracy and legitimacy of accounting records, including accounts, organizations, and jobs/projects.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Minimum 3+ years of related work experience
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts and principles
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail and highly analytical
- Strong sense of ownership
- Self-directed, and able to work well independently and collaboratively in a team
- Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
- Willingness to commit to the office when requested
- U.S. Citizenship
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
Knowledge and experience with General Ledger and Reconciliation.

Salary Range:
$20.63 – $36.11
