Position Summary
The Director, Graduate Marketing and Communications leads all marketing and communications efforts for the Office of Graduate Studies. This individual reports to the Dean for Graduate Studies and is part of the Office of Graduate Studies leadership team with supervisory responsibilities.
This role is responsible for the development and execution of marketing and communications strategies for increasing awareness of UNO graduate programs at local, regional, and national levels and is responsible for identifying and monitoring key market performance indicators and marketing/communications market trends. Specifically, the Director develops and executes strategic marketing and communications plans for the Graduate Studies Office and in support of units and programs. This involves designing and producing various reports and marketing materials across a variety of mediums.
The Director, Graduate Marketing and Communications constantly seeks and obtains opportunities to expand UNO’s position in the graduate education market and achieve enrollment goals. This role builds and maintains relationships with internal and external partners. The director regularly collaborates with faculty and staff from each academic college, College Communicators, University Marketing and Strategic Communications, Undergraduate Admissions, International Programs, Information Technology Services, Digital Learning, and Academic and Career Development Services.
Specifically, the Director:
- Develops strategies, content, and coordinates CRM communications, content and structure of the Graduate Studies website, department publications, and recruitment materials.
- Leads the planning and execution of prospective graduate student events, new student orientation programming, and retention/support events for enrolled graduate students.
- Develops and maintains relationships with prospective graduate students, enrolled graduate students, alumni, campus collaborators, NU campus partners, and external organizations.
- Provides direct supervision and guidance to Graduate Recruitment and Marketing team to achieve departmental goals.
