Summary
The Senior Customs Analyst performs substantial parts of the standard processes within the department that require a high attention to detail as well as multiple checks to ensure high quality. This role is responsible for classifying items correctly and identifying import requirements to ensure compliance with regulations. The Senior Analyst is also responsible for developing internal procedures in compliance with customs and import regulations.
Remote Opportunity
This is a remote opportunity available in the following US states: D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, West Virginia, and Virginia. Please note that due to tax considerations, remote work is limited to these states.
What You’ll Do
- Manages projects, work processes, systems, and/or procedures to ensure efficient workflow
- Update guidelines, standard operating procedures, and instructional materials
- Identify, develop, and propose opportunities for business and process improvement
- Support in national and international projects, producing business requirements, performing business system tests, and technical improvements
- Perform HTS classification and determination of import requirements for different product categories
What You’ll Need
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Familiarity with retail industry and relevant legal requirements
- In-depth knowledge of customs regulation, import processes, and classification
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Familiarity with retail industry and relevant legal requirements
Required Education, Certifications/Licenses, Related Experience
- Licensed customs broker
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-4 years of experience in a related field
- In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of experience in a related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
Physical Job Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
