The Credit Analyst provides support with analyzing the financial performance of current and prospective borrowers, monitoring collateral, and assessing risk in conformance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness both internally and to members served by the Credit Union.
  • Partners with Commercial Loan Officers to prepare loan presentations for new loans, line of credit renewals, modifications, and annual reviews.
  • Reviews financial statements and related materials to perform a thorough underwriting analysis of the commercial borrower’s overall credit worthiness and financial condition.
  • Assists commercial loan officers in managing the overall credit quality of the commercial loan portfolio.
  • Attends client calls with Commercial Loan Officers when appropriate.
  • Aids Commercial Loan Officers with the entire loan closing process by reviewing loan documentation and assists with all third parties such as law firms, environmental firms, appraisal firms, insurance companies, SBA, construction inspection firms, business valuation firms, etc.
  • Responsible for responding to member inquiries and providing superior external and internal member service related to commercial loan and deposit services.
  • Assists the Commercial Loan Officers in general portfolio and problem loan management.
  • Adheres to all LCU policies and procedures. Responsible for compliance with the following regulations: BSA, OFAC, and other regulations as required.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent.
  • At least one year experience as a credit analyst in commercial lending.
  • Ability to understand, analyze and underwrite commercial loan requests with a strong attention to quality, accuracy, and detail.
  • High level of problem-solving aptitude and demonstrated organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple underwriting assignments simultaneously.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and with a team.
  • Working knowledge of PC and Microsoft software applications as well as the ability to learn and utilize applications.

This position is eligible to work remotely up to 2 days per week after 3 months of hire in accordance with the Work from Home Policy.
