As a high-quality national middle school math curriculum, EdGems Math’s print and digital program engages students at all levels of learning from grade 6 through Algebra 1 and motivates them to become inspired thinkers and doers as they progress on their unique mathematical journeys. Over the next year, we will be expanding our offering with Geometry and Algebra 2 curriculum. We are currently seeking a Lead Geometry Curriculum Developer at the high school level with strong expertise in mathematical content knowledge for Geometry and high school standards to contribute to the writing of EdGems Math’s new offerings, including Student Edition lessons, assessments, Teacher Guide instructional resources, and other ancillary materials.
This is a full-time one-year contract position, with the potential to roll into a multi-year on staff position.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the EdGems Math curriculum team to create a vision and approach for Geometry and Algebra 2 that meets product principles;
- Write student-facing and teacher-facing math content;
- Create templates and prototypes for curricular materials, including revisions based on feedback;
- Help to create and plan the scope, sequence, and narrative of the Geometry curriculum;
- Create a range of assessment content.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of classroom teaching experience in Geometry;
- A full understanding of the High School Common Core State Standards, including the knowledge and experience of how to create learning objectives from standards, and how to accurately scaffold skills;
- Experience in curriculum design;
- Ample experience writing lesson plans for Geometry;
- A full understanding of backward design for curriculum development;
- Knowledge of pedagogy and learning theory;
- A bachelor’s degree in mathematics or mathematics education;
- Excellent verbal and communication skills;
- Excellent collaboration skills;
- Expertise in the tools in the Google Suite.
The gross salary range for this role is $70,000 – $80,000.
