DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Insurance Investigator 2, you will investigate consumer complaints to determine company/producer compliance with existing statutes and regulations. Comprehensive communication skills are exercised regularly, as you will be providing education to consumers and responding to inquiries on matters relating to their insurance needs.

Within this role, you will:

  • Review and investigate complex consumer complaints in relation to property and casualty lines of insurance.
  • Prepare detailed notes and written reports as necessary, in response to complaints and inquiries.

This work involves the investigation of various types of insurance complaints and is performed independently with periodic review by the supervisor and/or division manager.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Work hours maybe negotiable based on operational needs.
  • Alternate work schedule (AWS) is offered with this position.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: Salary is non-negotiable and will start at the beginning of the salary range, with increases over time, as experience is gained.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Insurance Investigator 1; or
  • Seven years of experience as an insurance investigator, underwriter, agent, broker or claims adjuster. College level training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for four years of the required experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
