About the Role
We are looking for a technically conversant leader, mentor, problem solver, and senior front engineer. To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Sit at the intersection between product, marketing, engineering, and leadership to inform, influence, and help execute product strategy
- Capable of understanding problems and own the front-end development process and pipeline.
- Execute as an individual contributor where you will have the responsibility to work with stakeholders to design and build the best solutions.
- Be responsible for code review and mentorship of more junior team members.
- Develop and own relationships with your both internal and external business partners and clients.
- Help grow the team by identifying data, product, technical, and personnel requirements and advocating for additional resourcing and hiring into new open positions.
- Create front end solutions for a diverse, global customer base.
- Facilitate front-end workshops with stakeholders.
- Work with design to draft UI and UX information flows and architectures.
- Partner with organizational teams to ensure front-end capabilities meet the highest quality and security standards.
- Present vision, strategic, and tactical recommendations with clarity and concision to stakeholders having varying degrees of technical, data, and analytical fluency.
- Manage and prioritize requests from partners and set realistic expectations. Transparently communicate about priorities and progress on a regular basis.
- Enhance the team’s, and broader organization’s, abilities to focus on impact, enable transparency, and create value.
- Work with software engineers, data scientists, plant operations, growers, and other key stakeholders to improve usability and engagement.
Requirements
Your experience:
- At least 4 years of experience shipping production quality FE code
- At least 2 years of experience with Material UI and managing component libraries.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication
- You are comfortable taking ownership of technical decisions about code structure, tools sets and the build pipeline.
- You are willing and able to lead or mentor more junior FE developers as the team grows
- Experience building complex and modern UIs that require a strong understanding of the underlying business logic
- Experience with collaborating with the Product and Design team.
- Past work writing tested code and doing test-driven development
- FE Architecture planning abilities and experience
