JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Data Analyst’s primary role will be to support the data and reporting needs of the University’s Chief Enrollment Management Officer (CEMO) and his leadership team, with respect to both Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Marketing, and Communications. The Sr. Data Analyst will develop and maintain reports and dashboards in the Slate CRM that will be used to make strategic recruitment and enrollment decisions.

Going beyond the standard metrics, the Sr. Data Analyst will develop reports that will measure return on investment (ROI), name-buy analysis, yield-through-retention statistics, year-to-date event registrations, goal tracking by territory, college, program, term, and more. They will work closely with the Slate team and the Enrollment Research & Analytics group to design and maintain reliable, stable, supportable, and sustainable reports using best practices to ensure the consistent integrity of the data, and so that reporting goals can be met.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Data Collection, Storage and Reporting in Technolutions Slate CRM for Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Marketing and Communications
  • Maintain and enhance the Slate reporting environment.
  • Analyze reporting requirements; design, develop, code, test and maintain user reports, dashboards, and corresponding queries.
  • Work in conjunction with the Senior Associate Director of Admission Systems, the Slate team, the Enrollment Research & Analytics group, and the EM Marketing and Communications group to develop back-end data queries to satisfy reporting needs.
  • Recommend standardized datasets for use in ad hoc queries and other reporting needs.

Statistical Analysis

  • Develop methodologies to design and execute statistical analyses.
  • Assist with identifying patterns within the data and converting them into usable information for the CEMO for purposes of tracking and decision making.
  • Conduct retention analysis to identify trends related to recruitment, admissions, enrollment, scholarships, financial and related data. Provide analysis to predict perspective student and applicant behavior throughout their engagement, using these data and metrics to gain insights on how to improve retention over time.

Quality Assurance and integrity of data collected, and reports generated.

  • Design a reliable, stable, supportable, and sustainable reporting environment in Technolutions Slate CRM.
  • Create and maintain reliable processes that can run without constant human intervention, and that do not need to change with any frequency.
  • Work with the Senior Associate Director of Admission Systems to create daily quality control checks, that monitors data standards and consistency coming out of the admission application system.

Training and support

  • Conduct training on a regular basis to key stakeholders to ensure they understand Slate Reporting and how to use it.
  • Provide training and support to the department and assist Colleges as well as university members with inquiries to assist with creating and editing reports and understanding the data.
  • Provide consultation and support to end users on the use of the reporting environment and solicit and incorporate feedback on potential enhancements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters’ preferred.
  • 3-5 years of previous experience with Technolutions Slate CRM. Experience with SQL.
  • Advanced practical experience with report creation and analysis in Slate, data management, and data visualization software.
  • Work experience and proficiency using statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, SAS, and R. Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Ability to provide strategic analysis and recommendations to drive enrollment decision-making.
  • Working knowledge of data management concepts including relational databases, data security, data governance, and system maintenance
  • 3-5 years of admissions or enrollment experience
  • Relevant exposure to both undergraduate and graduate enrollment processes preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate and work beyond business hours including weekends and evenings as needed during high volume months.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work and communicate with a broad group of stakeholders.
