About:

Interpret LLC, a video game research firm, presents the Game Developer Panel as part of their Good Gamer Group. This specialized community assembles seasoned game developers who share an undying passion for crafting exceptional gaming experiences. Our mission is to delve deep into the game development process and optimize tools by incorporating the feedback from professionals like you.

Over the past years, our diverse research undertakings have made significant strides in understanding the needs of gamers. In 2022 alone, we orchestrated over 1,081 video game-specific studies. Since 2020, our incentive program has remunerated Good Gamer Group members with a staggering $2.2 million.

These opportunities apply specifically to our Game Developer VR Panel, and you will only be given studies related to game development or game art / design.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in an assortment of studies encompassing surveys, interviews, focus groups, and developmental tool tests.
  • Share invaluable feedback and insights on game development tools, their efficacy, and potential enhancements.
  • Uphold the confidentiality protocols of each study and respect the privacy guidelines set by Interpret LLC.
  • Maintain punctuality and reliability for all scheduled studies.

This panel operates on an ad-hoc basis and doesn’t offer full-time employment. The specificity of requirements varies with each study. Participants are matched with studies based on their Game Developer Panel profile. All studies, be it in-person or virtual, necessitate a re-screening to validate a member’s qualifications prior to their participation.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Game Development: Prospective members should possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in game development.
  • Articulation: Ability to clearly convey opinions, experiences, and insights.
  • Critical Evaluation: Proficiency in evaluating game tools, their usability, and potential implications.
  • Open-mindedness: A willingness to explore and provide feedback on diverse game development tools.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to foster a healthy group dynamic, respect diverse opinions, and contribute constructively to discussions.
  • Integrity: Members are expected to uphold the confidentiality of studies, consistently participate, and provide authentic, comprehensive feedback.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years in VR game development.
  • Function in at least one of the following roles: Game Designer, Programmer/Developer, Level Designer, UI/UX, System Engineer, Art and Sound Integration Specialist, 3D Modeling, Animation, Producer, Technical Artist, AI Programming, Graphics/Rendering Engineer, Gameplay Programmer, Tools Developer, Middleware Developer, Share Developer, Network Engineer.
  • Experience developing Virtual, Augmented, or Mixed Reality games a plus!
  • Experience with game engines such as Unity, Unreal Engine, Roblox Studio, VR Chat, Lumberyard, or similar professional game development engines.
  • Familiarity with notable programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Lua, etc.
  • Or familiarity in tools used for Animation, 3D Modeling, Texture Artists, Skydomes, etc.
  • Reside in the U.S.

Compensation:

This being a specialized panel, incentives are higher than our general gaming panel. Approximate compensations are:

  • Surveys: $20 to $50
  • Interviews: $150 to $600
  • Focus Groups: $250 to $600
  • Development Tool Tests: $250 to $2,000
