We’re Hiring: Territory Sales Manager

Contractors Steel, powered by UPG, is hiring a Territory Sales Manager to join our dynamic team. With almost 60 years in business, Contractors Steel is a growing steel service center. Successful candidates ideally have experience in the steel industry and a solid understanding of specialized products and services produced by steel service centers. We’re looking for a detail-oriented candidate eager to learn and grow in this fast-paced environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prospecting for new business and maximizing growth opportunities
  • Increasing revenue in targeted accounts
  • Building consensus, gaining commitments, and closing business
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through education and industry participation
  • Conducting competitive market intelligence and adjusting positioning for market leadership
  • Forecasting sale trends, communicating competitive situations, and enhancing sales positions with existing customers
  • Setting up and maintaining routine customer contact
  • Developing and executing a strategic business plan
  • Interacting with Inside Sales Representative to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Serving as an interface for customer quality issues
  • Traveling as needed

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or 5+ years of management experience in steel service center sales
  • 3 years outside selling experience in the structural steel industry
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Basic understanding of metallurgical terminology
  • Confidence in computer skills, including MS Office Suite
  • Availability to commute to facility 1-2x per week
